I recently brought this Racal 836 32MHz Universal Counter-Timer for £20 at
Newbury Radio Rally last year. This counter is ruggedized military
version of the 9036, has a fast warm up self contained 10MHz crystal oven
oscillator option fitted and was made around 1972. When I first got the
unit it wouldn't perform the self check facility and after being lead down
the garden path I finally found several dry joints which were causing
problems, re-soldering these fixed the problems. I managed to source an
original technical manual from eBay.

Tubes are Hivac XN 13, all are soldered onto the plug-in driver boards.
