Are you running high enough voltage that the blue is an actual arc between pins
or just a glow?

Hi Jeff, yes driving way over voltage just to get the digit illuminated....id
ran the tube for 24 hrs before at rated voltage and nothing....duff tube by the
looks of it...I've had plenty of NL840's and the like that needed some coaxing
back to life, but nothing like this....

I had some used NL841 tubes that had not been run in 25 years that glowed below
the mica but cleared up after about 24 hours and have been fine since.   Didn't
have the bright blue.   Are you running over voltage?

Anybody seen a tube do this before? Blue corona around every digit.:.needs a
high strike voltage until digit ignites otherwise the pin below the mica disc
glows instead....odd. Otherwise the tube looks clear and unused.....
