These are the two best materials in my humble opinion for case construction as they lend a warmth to the overall factor of a Nixie clock. A while ago I built a clock called 'The Atomium' as a prototype and here now is a refined version,

The Atomium MkII, which features a lot more brass work in it, is a refinement of the prototype. There are over 190 parts to this clock ignoring the electronics and CV5278 Nixies. Converted plumbing parts form most of the build and bear no relation to what they first started out as. I get a real kick out of seeing a clock going from an idea to completion when it is sitting there operating as it should and it looks as I imagined it to be.
