Incredible; looks brand-new. The unit I had was a dirty mess by comparison, 
which probably led to it being unreliable. But, mine had no tubes. Plenty 
of transistors, though.

When I was in high school, a local company donated several nixie+stepper 
voltmeters, and they were annoyingly noisy because the 
least-significant-digit was 'wobbling' all of the time. DMMs (with 
7-segment LEDs) became relatively cheap and widely available then, which 
killed nixies.
