When I made the 'Lichtenberg' version of the Tesla Meets Edison nixie clock 
I also made a version in white oak for another collector.

In the 'plain' version it lacked the stand out features of the Lichtenberg 
one so something was needed to bring it up in the visual department.

The addition of engraved end plates really made it look more stunning.
