It's quite a bit of work to pop IN-1's apart. There's a crusty adhesive in the base, and heating / sawing / grinding the base gives off some really obnoxious (and probably toxic) fumes. Smells like bakelite to me.
If any of you are pulling these apart to save money on sockets, please consider your personal health and make your own sockets.
