Set of 6 tubes fluctuates between 220 and 300 on eBay at the moment. If you got your from Gene, then they're probably late date code and on the higher end of that range.
For the kit itself, I'm unsure....it's a nice clock. $1000 dollars is a stupid amount IMHO, but things are worth what people are willing to pay for them. I'd peg it at around $5-600 dollars, but hey, list it! PM me if you want any more info.
