The chip it uses, the MK5011P, is pretty basic 4 function calculator with 
fixed (not floating) point maths.

Its a neat display, but pretty boring calculator.

With 11 digits you can do: DD.MM.YY_HH.MM

Stardate is an alternative (there are a couple of versions), as is using 
one of the FFF system units, such as microfortnights since your date of 
birth...

Alternatively, as has been suggested, do something more random (you get the 
idea!).
