Someone sent me a nixie watch for repair. Turns out, it's not one that I
made, but a Seahope watch from Japan. I just had to take out the module and
check it out.

It's a strange combination of exotic tech and backwards design. The CPU is
a chip-on-board thing, but it's bigger than the PIC processor that I use in
my square watch. They chose to use 26 discrete transistors and base
resistors instead of the high voltage arrays. The transformer is rather
big, and the display is very dim. No tube sockets nor tilt activation.
Charging is done via a tiny DC barrel jack.

The IN-16 tubes look good, but the watch is 56mm tall. The stainless steel
case is nicely machined and really heavy. Including the strap, it weighs
half a pound.

On the bright side, a set of blue LEDs make the tubes glow, and another
pair tells you whether you're seeing hours or minutes. The display shows
the time thrice per button push.

Does anyone have any other Nixie watches they'd like to discuss?
