Ah those were the days. I was in my late teens. One day a new catalog came in 
the mail and the hot new item was drum memory mechanisms for $15 apiece. Man I 
wish I could have bought one of those. The last one I saw on eBay was way high.

I do have a couple of core planes I found at hamfests. One of them must be a 
last-generation model as it's a whopping 1kB x 8 and only about 6" x 3.5".
