Thanks for the suggestions.  The nixieclock.biz offerings look appealing. 
Would you suggest the "All-in-one" which has it's own onboard controller or 
one of the models that uses a separate Arduino board ?   Would an external 
controller offer more flexibility ?  I would probably opt for a model that 
has the WiFi NTP option rather than the RTC version.  I've seen Atomic 
clock module kits that are available. Is the protocol standard enough that 
this can be used on these Arduino based clocks ?
