Tim, we now have eBay and AliExpress where we can select even cheaper parts 
and not have to pay shipping...
Did Radio Shack ever offer you 100 resistors for $0.99?
But yes, I miss the physical stores too!
And most of all that means: I need a part, go to the store, and continue 
with what I'm working on.
Nowadays it's like: okay, I'll order this now so let's continue with this 
project 4 weeks from now (hopefully).
I'm happy to pay a multiple if it means I can just continue with what I'm 
working on. But the few local stores that are still left here never have 
what I'm looking for.
So it's usually like "we can order it if you wish"
Errrr, no thanks. I think I can do that myself...
