Hi martin,

        Congratulations, that’s a terrific calculator to receive as a gift! The 
high anode voltage required for the display
is generally provided by an inverter powered by the DC input. From the 
pictures, it looks like there is a transformer 
just behind the display. That is likely for the inverter. Look for small 
electrolytics around that transformer, especially
ones that have high operating voltage values. All those should be replaced. The 
yellow ones in front of the display are
probably OK if all digits are visible. I love these kind of calculators and 
hope you get this one in working condition.
