I have one of each. The sparktube board is much bigger than the display and not directly programmable via USB. Also, the program with it is only a test, so you would have to design your own code. It also isn’t directly mounted to the display so a case would have to be made to mount each the display and the board. It uses an ESP32. (Unfortunately, my unit has 2 bits bad, and the board needs to be repaired since I have to twist the board to make it work – this post by leo makes me think I should find the bad solder joints…. When I have time. Heh)
The leo unit has a board smaller than the display, directly mounted, and has a CH340 making it programable via USB. It uses an ESP8285. It has a clock code already. I like this version much better for the design.
