In my experience (being an ex-Pat from the UK and now living in the states), the de-minimis to the UK was never 135 quid..... it was a lot lower if you believed the fees/extra charges that Parcel Farce would charge for incoming parcels to friends and family. There are other ways of dealing with the Sheins and Temus of the world who have exploited this loophole and that's to limit the number of sub threshold parcels per calendar period.... that way, the small trade folks who this was implemented to help wouldn't get crushed by the actions of a few bad actors gaming the system... just my 2 cents (pennies).
