Follow up question: how do you approach removing and replacing a channel strip for recapping etc? As you know, the Series One channels are all hard-wired with long strips of bus wire running through each pcb of each channel. Do you snip each bus wire do the recap on a bench and then try to solder little "splints" of bus wire between each original piece of bus wire? Or do you de-solder and remove the bus wire completely and replace with new? Up to this point I have been able to do all maintenance by propping my board up with a stick like one would on the hood of a car, and would do work from below... or from the top by removing blank panels and easing the strips apart. I think I may need a different approach for more major jobs like a re-cap. PS: I absolutely LOVE my Neotek! It is perfect for tracking and mixing projects I do on my Scully 1" 8trk, and I run my DAW projects through it mixing to 1/4"...
