Hi Ike, as I say I've recently had a new power supply built and have
also had some of the chips updated, specifically 3 in the EQ section and
1 in the output/insert section.
Since I've got it back there are a few logic issues which were not there
prior to the chip upgrade and I've also noticed a few calibration issues
which just havn't been seen to.
1. The channel On/group select buttons at the fader which on my unit
function like mutes were working and now do nothing.
2. The meters seem only to be responding to the Tape returns rather than
the Mic inputs. Even when you switch to monitoring the Mic the meters
keep metering the return. I'm sure this was not happening before and
when you switched the fader from Tape to Input the meters also responded
in kind.
Calibration
3. When using the Line inputs Channel 2 is 1.6dB down on Channel 1
through the fader and 0.7dB down on Channel 1 through the monitor
section. Also when passing a 1kHz tone through the channel the channel 2
output is fluttering just slightly (+/- 0.5 dB) while channel 1 is rock
solid. These balance issues are not apparent when using the Mic inputs
although there is again a slight instability and maybe a 0.1 dB drop on
Channel 2 when routed via the monitor section.
4. I also suspect that the channel 2 metering is not quite calibrated
properly but this is all tied up in the previous issue and needs to be
dealt with first.
Finally when I first used the Monitor section channel 1 would drop out
when the knob was full on and panned hard left or right. This however
seems to have settled down. It should be understood that the unit was
basically sitting in a storage shed for 20 years until I came upon it by
accident when picking up another ebay purchase from the guy so I am
allowing for some issues relating the getting it back up and going. The
key issues above are the ones which were working fine and have now stopped.
My tech has requested that I try and get hold of the necessary circuit
diagrams so that he can assess and hopefully resolve these issues.
Thanks for your time, Cheers
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Welcome aboard! That is a really cool little console you've got
there. What issues are you having with it?
best,
Ike

Apologies for the non-regulation post, here it is in regulation format.
Hi, First time poster so I'm hopeful that someone may be able to
help. Some time ago I acquired a very unique 2 channel Neotek
console from the guy who was the Australian Distributor many years
ago. They had them made for trade shows etc. I've attached some
photos for those who may be interested.
It took me a while but I had a new power supply built for it, which
sounds great, and just have a few very minor issues that need to be
attended to. I have thus far been unable to get hold of the circuit
diagrams for the Elan (or Elan II - not exactly certain which one it
is) mono channel strips in order to complete the restoration and my
tech has been working with diagrams from the Elite and information
from others to get as far as we have.
Any help that this list could provide in this pursuit would be most
gratefully received. Please don't hesitate to get in contact. It's
all basically working well and sounding great and I'd really love to
finish off the job properly.
My contact details are below and I hope that we may be able to sort
it all out.
Thanks again to you all and Seasons Greetings.
Cheers, Andrew
