Objet : $5500 NEOTEK: Console values?

well, my 32x8 Series II is still available, it's in good shape, I will accept
$5500.00(us), but won't go under. I would hate selling it in parts, but i'm
starting to think more and more about this option

It IS a WONDERFUll sounding board. Might need some cosmetic work on the fader
plates, but it's ready to make music

Agreed. I believe given their condition they will go up in value. Especially a
full intact console because so many people split them up and have a few modules
racked. Which I don't blame them depending on their circumstances and needs. I
have about $10.000 in to my console it has some amazing upgrades its very
unique. I have considered selling it as some of you may have seen. Every time I
do a shoot or a mix it reassures me that it would be a devastating mistake. So
it is here to stay I love it. I some times wonder about the newer Elans &
Elites I heard that they are not as honest as the series 1&2's. I have no
direct experience with the sound. However I did get a chance to see touch and
feel a racked pair of Elans I can tell you the the quality level seemed to be
on the downside compared to the series 1&2's. I can not speak for the sound
because they were not working. Also the elans do not have the pull & pop eq. I
heard there is a toggle switch that
 operates that function now.

Subject: Re: NEOTEK: Console values?

A few years ago, I bought a 28-channel Series II for $6800.00, but it had been
upgraded with Burr Brown ICs, the power supply had just been rebuilt by Mike
Stoica, and a few other mods had been installed. It hadn't been recapped,
though, so I did that and also cleaned up a bunch of previous "tech" work and
some other miscellaneous stuff. As I plan to keep this desk until I retire
from audio, I don't know what I'd ask for it these days if I did sell it. My
guess is I would start at 10K or so and work down from there since the economy
isn't what it used to be; however, I do think Neotek consoles are still in
demand and will most likely remain that way.

Cheers,
