Hi All,
Anyone interested in this? The kit to balance the insert Return,
consists of two amplifier cards to do the balancing, and a motherboard
that they plug into. This comes attached to a blank fader panel to be
installed adjacent to the master fader. The motherboard can accommodate
four of the balancing cards, so here's the new idea: Use the extra two
card slots for a balanced, line level interface for an iPod or other
3.5mm (1/8" TRS) jack. I have this mocked up on the bench right now, and
it sounds quite good. The challenges at the moment are 1) finding a
3.5mm jack that will mount to a panel the thickness of the Neotek panel,
and 2) There would be more wiring involved in that you would have to run
a pair of lines to the patch-bay.
On the Bypass switch front, I'm hoping to have a test installation
done by this Friday.
Stay tuned.
Best,
Ike
