The URIs of resources that are actively shared (as in your case and
which comes as scenario 2 in my original proposal) will be retained
when they are mirrored (aka shared) with another system.
The 'machine identifier' are just available to enable easier transfer
and need not exactly match with the system that they are currently
stored ...

But, I really appreciate that thoughts have already started flowing
forwards. That might eventually help us in implementing a more robust
URI scheme in nepomuk !
