xsd:duration seems the more logical choice indeed.

I doubt anybody used it. It is also at the wrong place, it should be rdfs:domain pimo:ProcessConcept as is pimo:dtend and pimo:dtstart.
If you create a ticket&patch for that, I will immediately accept it as valid...it sounds quite valid

There is no super-immediate value of those properties, the "grand idea" behind is that you are able to put all events of a person on a single time-axis and visualize them or calculate a semantic proximity based on time proximity.
I wonder if anybody has gone so far... but once somebody does, it is good to have them.
