The attached patch allows the location of nmap to be explicitly specified while maintaining the current default behavior.
The patch also changes the '-s' and/or '--cfg-specs' option to dump ALL the specs not just the few in the list. The question is whether or not undocumented (or mistaken) specs should be listed. Are there other external commands that may need a simillar option? Something simillar ought to be done for the --gen-config option.
 
The reason I did this is that I added a nessusd script to /etc/rc.d/init.d etc.
