When running Nessus via the command line using /usr/local/bin/nessus, Nessus seems to ignores the "only_test_hosts_whose_kb_we_dont_have" setting in the .nessusrc file. Hosts previously scanned are being rescanned.
When I run off the same .nessusrc file via the GUI, the previously scans hosts are correctly skipped. The problem is, when I use the GUI on a large network, after about 300 found devices in about 16 subnetworks, the GUI goes down with the message: [ batch]$ nessus Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x27abc92 unexpectedly destroyed Gdk-ERROR **: called gdk_window_destroy on a pixmap (use gdk_pixmap_unref) aborting... Aborted Starting it up and restoring the sessions results in it going down again with the same message. I could break things down into subnetworks of maximum 255 IPs, but it would need to be run via the command line with the KB working so I don't scan certain hosts. I am using this past Thursday CVE build (1.1.13) under RedHat Linux 7.2. Just wanted to report this problem in case it has not been encountered before. Thanks. -- John -- John J.
