Hello

I have just installed Nessus on a Mandrake 8.1 box. and I have problems
getting the client to run anc connect to the server on the localhost. I have
looked through the archive but have now reached a dead end.
I have nessusd started. However when I try and run nessus I can bring up the
set up box but login gives the following message

could not open a connection to the remote host.

The settings in Nessusd host are
        Nessusd Host: localhost
        Port:1241
        Encryption: twofish/ripemd160:3
        Login: user

ps auwx |grep nessus
gives

root 2651 0.6 0.4 2372 868 pts/1 T 14:01 0:02 nessusd -D
root 2653 2.1 1.6 6200 3216 pts/1 S 14:01 0:07 nessus

nessusd -L
[EMAIL PROTECTED] - user key

when I did a netstat -an it appears that nessusd has not opened a port to
listen on. I have no firewalling on this machine.

Any thoughts or ideas or helpful pointers gratefully appreciated

Thanks in advance
