My nessus server was running for a long time. (3 weeks or something) I
update it on a regular basis with the newest tests.(auto update scripts)
However, a couple
of days ago nessus didn't seem to generate any testoutput anymore. It still
indicated that there where open ports and it performed the tests (according
to -V status output), but the test-results aren't generated anymore.
So all the ports contain "unknown" services without any messages.
After killing and restarting the server (1.1.12 i believe) the problem was
solved. I got the latest CVS upgrade and I will see if it will happen
again.
Anyone else got this problem? (so that we maybe can find the cause :)
