Yes. the 'nmap tcp connect' plugin is a stripped-down version of nmap,
which uses far less memory (~300kb vs 8Mb), which is good if you want to
test more than ten hosts at the same time (or more than
YOUR_AMOUNT_OF_RAM/8 hosts at the same time actually :). It's also
completely un-affected by the preferences set for nmap ('Prefs' panel).
