It looks like it's not successfully downloading the gz file of plugins (hence the gzip
error).
Make sure wget is able to get to the net properly (by getting a plain html page), or
try using lynx instead of wget. I was having the same
problem until I remembered that pesky proxy I have to use & set up the script
accordingly.
