It is quite strange behavaiour....I run nessus on red hat 7.2 machine (PIII, 512MB ram) and run all scans from linux machine. Nessus is connected to monitor switch adn what I ususally do is I start the scan and switch to another machine, and what I noticed is the following: When I work on another machine for hours and then swithc back to nessus I see that scan almost didn't make any progress but when I start moving mouse on Linux machine it continue running much faster then before. If I don't swithc to another machine and simply look at nessus and move mouse from time to time then it works normally.
P.S> I run nessus as nessusd -D Nessus also significantly slows down when screen saver is running on Liinux machine...
