Zigactly... Let's give Symantec a fair shot at it, and evaulate their
performance in regard to the continued lack of bias of SecurityFocus and
its various projects and mailing lists as time progresses.
They definitely seem to be on a buying spree lately, don't they? I'd love
to see what comes of it.
Just a thought... wouldn't a Nessus appliance be a really cool thing for
someone to bring to market at a really affordable price point? That would
really make Nessus an easier choice for people who don't know their *nixes
too well, but require the benefits of such a tool. (I'm thinking of all
those "lekker" [1] vulnerable M$ shops out there...)
Cheers

To answer this (from my standpoint), I don't see why Symantec would not
want to play 'fair'. I've worked for them in the past as a consultant and
all of the people I delt with were on the up & up.
I think that since they'll be the 'new people on the block' they'll permit
the list to continue as they are. We'll have to wait and see.
As for Nessus.....Why in the fsck would someone want to boof something up
that is as good as this product ?

I would like to see the list progress as usual and I think everyone else
would as well. I, like others, have been a list member of SecurityFocus
since it was with geekgirl.com. ..... If it gets fubar'd....someone else
will grab the reigns and go for it (I would hope).
