Here's what I do force a full scan: 1. Disable the Ping remote host scan. 2. Set nmap to not ping the remote host, do TCP, UDP and RPC scan, using normal timing policy on ports 1 to 65535. Both settings can be made through NessusWX and should give you the desired results. I'm not too sure if you can set this up as default, as I have not fiddled much with the configuration files, since I need to tweak my configs for different scenarios for every scan. Thus far I have not been able to find a flag in the nessusd.conf file or through the NessusWX client (ran out of time before I could look at the Posix nessus client) that would accomplish this goal. In this case, I'm talking about IPs that may be behind a firewall, which have routes for the range pointing to an non-private interface on the router, and yet cannot be reached directly (such as how most SOHO/residential firewalls with many-to-one NAT seem to operate). What config option am I missing, where do I set it, and can I set it in the nessusd.conf file? Or has nessus evolved to the point that it's no longer possible to scan non-responsive hosts?
