I think the plugin refers to a different vulnerability. MS02-039 is about a buffer overflow in the resolution server, while the plugin seems to be a buffer overflow in MS SQL Server itself. Both seem pretty bad, except that you can close the resolution server port to take care of it temporarily. The only way to take care of the vulnerability the plugin talks about is to shut off MS SQL (short of a patch released my MS).
I am going to find some time to load up SQL Server on a test machine and see what I can find. > I think the plugin refers to: > > http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS02-039.asp > - [EMAIL PROTECTED]: general discussions about Nessus. * To unsubscribe, send a mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe nessus" in the body.
