Although software does not rot, some versions do improve.
Knowing the folks at ISS quite well (I did work there 9/97-5/01 in part on scanner),
and learning more each day about Nessus, I can say with certainty
that any comparison older than six months isn't worth the electrons carrying it.

Does someone has any comparison between Nessus and Internet Scanner (ISS) ?

In May 2001, version 1.05 of Nessus received the Vulnerability Assessment Tool Award from Network Computing.

See http://www.nwc.com/1210/1210f111.html#vulnassess.  Finalists were Internet Scanner 6.1 from ISS and Axent NetRecon 3.0+ SU7 from Symantec.

Also, Nessus received the highest overall score in a comparison         of vulnerability assessment scanners by Network Computing Magazine in January 2001.  See http://www.networkcomputing.com/1201/1201f1b1.html.  It was compared against Axent Technologies' NetRecon, BindView Corp.'s HackerShield, eEye Digital Security's Retina, Internet Security Systems' Internet Scanner, Network Associates' CyberCop Scanner, Security Administrator's Research Assistant (SARA) and World Wide Digital Security's System Analyst Integrated Network Tool (SAINT).
