Title: RE: update plugins

Doh, I forgot to install wget.  I recompiled nessus-plugins and now I am able to update the plugins.  Thanks. I am still getting the error about bind_bof not being able to be built though.  Anyone have any ideas on this?  Is this critical in the running of nessus?  What impact would this have on a scan?

Subject: update plugins

Hi all,
I just installed nessus from CVS on a fresh install of FreeBSD 4.6.
hwbsd252# nessus -v
nessus (Nessus) 1.2.6 for FreeBSD
When compiling nessus-plugins (configure; make; make install) I received the
following error:
Warning : the following plugins could not be built :
bind_bof
I then attempted to run nessus-update-plugings and I am receiving the
following error:
Error $fetch_cmd or $gzip are not set - abort
I checked what path nessus-update-plugings was looking for gzip and it is
/usr/bin/gzip, right where gzip is located:
hwbsd252# which gzip
/usr/bin/gzip
What could be going wrong here?  Did I miss something in the install?  I
installed all the required components before installing nessus.
On a side note, is nessus compatible with gtk+2.0?  I had this installed
first and nessus would not find it because of a missing file (gtk-config).
Once I installed gtk1.2.8 nessus-core compiled without an issue because
gtk12-config was present.
