Thanks for the follow-ups to my question.  Out of curiousity I did an 
init 6 on the box and scanned all tcp ports with nmap.  The only ports 
open were 22/tcp and 2507/tcp.  If port 1047/tcp pops up again I'll use 
the information in the follow-ups.

I recompiled Nessus to use 2507/tcp. I got a kick out of the service 
assigned to 2507/tcp --> spock.  Spock is a high-end molecular graphics 
package for displaying protein and nucleic acid structures.
