I am trying to determine the best way to automate security scans with
Nessus.
First, I would like to run all tests except the 'dangerous' ones.
Second, I would like to run the nessus scan from cron.
Third, I would like to run update-nessus-plugins from cron.
My concern is that once the cron job has updated my plugins, the
nessusrc will no longer reflect which plugins are available.
Am I correct in understanding that if I do not have a {PLUGIN_SET}
stanza within my nessusrc, then all plugins will be used except the
dangerous ones? This is what I am hoping for as it will be easiest by
far.
If that is not the case, will I have to run the X11 nessus client
manually to update the nessusrc with the plugins that have been loaded
with update-nessus-plugins?
