The inability to perform normal activities can be lifethreatening.

Many doctors now use email and other resources to perform their normal
tasks. If these functions fail they may miss important information
regarding a patient and this might in the end result in loss of life.

Now if your webserver with some pretty pictures isn't visible you may
loose nothing but it is nearly impossible to make general statements about
the effect of DoS attacks. DoS attacks might result in compromised and
thus lost information as well.

As someone who knowns the network you are supposed to be in a position to
judge the situation.

Hugo.
