I have a server running Debian Linux 3.0 (stable) with kernel 2.2.20 and nessusd version 1.2.5-3 (unstable).
If you care, check here http://packages.debian.org/unstable/admin/nessusd.html for more information.
This nessusd was installed via the apt-get command line tool.
I can connect to the nessusd server using NessusWX on a Windows 2000 Pro system and using the GTK+ Nessus Client on another Debian system.
I do not have a client installed on the nessusd system because X is not installed on it.
However, using a Sharp Zaurus running OpenZaurus Linux 3.0 (stable) with kernel 2.4.6-rmk1-np2-embedix, the Opie Qt/E based GUI, and the zNessus GUI (go here http://znessus.sourceforge.net to read more about it), I cannot connect to the nessusd server.
Basically, the connection times out.
I know this is because my server requires encrypted connections and zNessus only supports plain-text password transmission.
My question is this: what nessusd.conf options or command-line switches can I use to get my nessusd server to accept plain-text passwords from at least one IP address?
Thank you!
Jason
