Hello, first of all thank you for writing this test. We have used it and saved many SQL2000 admins from getting their boxes hacked.
I am writing however to inquire about the older SQL7, which also tests positive when subjected to this test. On the MS02-056 bulletin it says: "I�m running SQL Server 7.0. Could I be affected by this vulnerability? No. It affects only SQL Server 2000 (and MSDE 2000); it doesn�t affect SQL Server 7.0 (or MSDE 1.0). However, SQL Server 7.0 administrators should still install the patch, as other vulnerabilities discussed in this bulletin do affect SQL Server 7.0." My question is what should I do with a positive result on a SQL7 box? Thanks for any advice that you can offer. eliot
