Hello all:

(Using 1.3.3)

I have noticed that when I disable TCP Ping in the preferences that my
SonicWall is properly detected as such, but all dead hosts are "brute"
scanned.

When I enable TCP Ping in the preferences, the dead hosts are immediately
dropped from the scan, but my SonicWall is no longer properly detected. In
fact, even though all security checks appear to run against it, no host
shows up in the report at all!!

And to make this even stranger .. I enabled "Use Hidden OS Check" in
preferences WITH the TCP Ping enabled. Dead hosts are quickly dropped and
my SonicWall is detected, but it is detected as a Commodore64/SonicWall/10.

Any ideas? For now it looks like my best bet is to run Nessus using TCP
Ping and Hidden OS check, since I'm sweeping IP ranges and the dead hosts
would really wreck my scan.

Mark
