I'm currently running Nessus 2.0.6a on a Gentoo 2.4 ppc kernel on a Mac dual
450 machine. I had been running Nessus clients 1.2.7 and 2.0.4 on both the
localhost and a remote server with no problems. If memory serves, I started
having this segmentation fault problem when I upgraded to 2.0.5 and now I
get the same fault when running any version of the client (1.2.7, 2.0.4,
2.0.5 and 2.0.6a). I can log into the Nessusd Host with no problems. If I
select "Enable all" plugins and then attempt to scan, the client quits with
the message "Segmentation fault nessus." I can scan with no problems
with all the plugins disabled. I can also scan with the majority of the
plugins enabled, but not all. I didn't see anything of interest in the
nessusd.messages or nessusd.dump files on the host machine. Plugins are all
current. Any ideas on what this is or how to get additional debugging info?

Thanks,

Jeff Heller
