Hi there,
Tenable Network Security (the company which funds most of the developement of Nessus) is in the process of beta testing a new vulnerability scanner we've written. The difference between this scanner and Nessus is that this one is completely passive - ie: it watches banners and other things, and deduces wether a host is vulnerable to a given flaw or not. A full white-paper explaining the technology and its pros and cons is available at : http://www.tenablesecurity.com/docs/passive_scanning_tenable.pdf We are looking for beta testers for this new tool. In order to qualify, we are looking for users who have either Linux or FreeBSD x86 servers deployed as sniffers on networks with at least 20 MB of traffic. We would also like the software to operate for several weeks, but do not expect the BETA to extend past June. If you are in the DC or New York area, we are also willing to come to you and install the software. If you are interested, contact Ron Gula by email, with the word 'BETA' in the subject of your email, at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks, -- Renaud -- Renaud Deraison The Nessus Project http://www.nessus.org
