No, NMAP won't detect it as a service, just the port. It was the aforementioned NASL script that needed to be modified to find it. It just does not look like an FTP server when you initially connect to it. The NASL script, sorry I do not have the original e-mail to look it up, looks for "220" and "FTP" in the banner, when there was only the "220" on this system.
