Two more questions:
1) Is nessus doing the match on the "nmap --version" string or the
header while nmap is running??

2) Is Nessus doing doing a regex match on this string or a string
compare?

The reason I asked is because I hexedited my binary of nmap 3.45 so
that the
--version message prints as "nmap V. 3.45 (
http://wwwinsecure.org/nmap/ ) ", like the old one did. Because
"V." is 5 characters shorter than "version" I padded the end of the
string with spaces. The Nmap plugin is still not showing up in either
NessusWX or in the native Xwindows client.
