I have placed my nessus server (wich is dedicated to this only) under a firewall box.
Is that influence the nessus check ?
Probably, depends on the firewall though. IF the firewall drops malformed packets it just might drop Nessus generated packets sent to test out vulnerabilities. Also, if your firewall rulebase is too strict it might block the Nessus server from sending packets completely.
What is the meaning of "outside_firewall = " that is setted in nessusrc.
No idea.
Do i have to take steps to helkp nessus work throught the firewall ?
I would monitor closely the firewall logs when doing a scan to see if something is blocked and would tune accordingly.
