That works fine, just be careful of the .nes plugins which are generated at compile time.1) nusses-update-plugings doesnt work under freebsd. I've downloaded plugings archive from site, unpacked them and placed in to /usr/local/lib/nessus/plugins. Is it right way?
Well, nearly 2000 plugins isn't such a bad effort. It's quite comparable to products like ISS and Retina.2) There are only 1983 plugins... covering 1299 unique CVE ids and 1453 unique Bugtraq IDs. I'm wondering is there any another plugings supplier? I don't think those cover enough amount of known vulnerabilties. Maybe i can find another plugin collection?
I don't know of any other public source of Nessus plugins although I expect most security companies will have at least a few private plugins.
P.S. Is there any security scanner, except Nessus (respect) and NiktoAnother free one is SARA http://www-arc.com/sara/ I haven't used it much.
under *nix platform?
