- GTK is widely deployed and easy to install (at least that was true - Qt is a much nicer toolkit but it requires C++ and is far lessHave you looked at wxWindows? It is native-look-and-feel portable to Windows and Unix although it does require C++. That may not be an unreasonable requirement for the GUI client.
