The remote host is dead

I have a small problem with Nessus. If I try to scan single hosts or a subnet, it can only scan the IP-address where I'm running NessusWX. Otherwise it /var/log/nessus.messages returns "The remote host is dead". They are definitely not dead, because I can ping the host(s) from the Nessus-server.

Have anyone encountered this problem?
