Hi All,

I have tried really I have....

I have been trying to install nessus on a variety of linux distributions within a VMware environment but have given up in despair and now have a RH9 box that I am trying to install it on.

I have downloaded 2.0.10a and have performed the steps in the first documentation page to compile each part, I don't think there were any errors but the text whipped by so fast it was hard to tell, presumably it would tell me at the end of each section if it failed?

I have got to the stage of running the nessus-adduser and it returned the error -

[EMAIL PROTECTED] lib]# cd /usr/local/sbin
[EMAIL PROTECTED] sbin]# ls
nessus-adduser nessusd nessus-mkcert nessus-rmuser nessus-update-plugins uninstall-nessus
[EMAIL PROTECTED] sbin]# ./nessus-adduser
nessusd: error while loading shared libraries: libnasl.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Executing nessusd failed. Make sure your library loader is configured properly
and that nessusd is in your $PATH
[EMAIL PROTECTED] sbin]#
[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# echo $PATH
/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/root/bin
[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]#

I have already added /usr/local/lib to the file /etc/lib.so.conf and performed an ldconfig.

Any ideas?

Peter.
