Cool !

I hadn't tried SuperScan4 yet. It's a really neat tool

Cheers,

I have been using Winfingerprint as Max noted below, however, I noted that I only got limited information on some Windows hosts.  I now use    SuperScan4    and am much happier with the results.  The scanning is super quick and produces stellar Windows host output.  Use the   Host Enumeration   tab and just select the information you want via the checkboxes on the left side of the GUI.  You won't be disappointed!

hi,

i need to scan a windows-only-network (well still exists in some
environments ;-), with about 2.500 clients (windows xp/win 2000/win nt).
i have admin access to all workstations and no deskptop firewalls will
run during the tests.

but i need only:

1)current client MAC address/ip address
2)windows version and maybe windows service pack version
3)netbios hostname
4)domain membership

so i would like to have reliable results, but all nessus scans i've done
so far, wasn't very accurate and pretty slow :-(

would it make sense to use also other os-fingerprinting tools, like
xprobe2 or p0f ?

any help is greatly appreciate it !

thanks
dude
