While nessus-adduser doesn't enforce it, the maximum size, I believe, is 32 characters; anything beyond that would generate this sort of message. Other causes of this message are usernames with ".." or "/" in them or users without rules files. > 2. I have used nessus-adduser to add myself as a user. Are you using password authentication only?
